Park Ji-hoon's bodybuilding journey began in the military. Even amidst the repetitive routine of training and daily duties, he never gave up working out, and thus stepped onto a competition stage for the first time in his 11th month of training. It was neither a short period nor an easy process.
The moment he identified as the hardest was the final phase of competition prep. Being on active duty placed limits on managing his diet, but as the contest drew near, he finished his meals each evening with chicken breast, eggs, and white rice, adding extra cardio sessions. While the physical toll was heavy, the mental preparation was even tougher. The process of composing himself ahead of stepping onto the stage for the first time was far from easy.
Even so, he took the stage. "I started lifting in the military and entered a competition after just 11 months," shared Park Ji-hoon. "Being able to stand on a bodybuilding stage at all was truly an honor." Rather than dwelling on regrets over the outcome, the very fact that he stood on stage resonated more deeply with him. Although he did not place among the award winners, this experience did not stop him. Instead, it fueled his passion for training even more.
His primary division is Men’s Physique. On November 1, 2025, at the Korea Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation competition hosted by the Republic of Korea Army at Paju Daegyo Traumbelt Stadium, he achieved the result of advancing to the finals. Considering his short preparation period and the circumstances of military service, it was a meaningful achievement in itself.
Park Ji-hoon's gaze is already set on what lies ahead. "In '26, after my discharge, I will compete in private federation shows and aim for a placing in physique." Using the experience gained from his first stage as a stepping stone, he is determined to prepare an even more polished physique and presentation.
A small decision made in the military led to a challenge on stage. Park Ji-hoon's story is only just beginning.
