A short prep period always poses a question to an athlete.
'Is this choice really the right one?'
For Kim Seong-uk, this stage was no different. Faced with the reality of a brief preparation window, he lacked full confidence in himself, but his desire to showcase and prove what he had was undeniable. If anything, that ambition served as the greatest driving force behind his season.
He calmly remarked, "I don't think there was anything particularly tough," yet those words subtly reflected the time he spent pushing himself.
This stage was not just another appearance. Due to an injury, it was his comeback stage after two years away. He had originally planned for the 2026 season, but at his coach's recommendation with only 50 days left until the contest, he decided to enter the MUSA Final, the last competition of the second half of the year. It was by no means an easy choice, but he prepared by doing the best he could within that short time.
Though he tried to focus on the process, as an athlete he could not completely let go of his ambition for results. Even so, he did not attribute standing on this stage solely to his own efforts. Mentioning his gratitude first and foremost to Coach Jeon Yong-gil of Horangi Corps and his teammates, he made it clear that this appearance was not merely an individual challenge, but a result achieved together.
As a result, Kim Seong-uk wrapped up his comeback stage with a 3rd-place finish in the 2025 MUSA Final Pro division.
Looking ahead, he shared:
"I want to grow into an athlete who is always anticipated and continuously improving."
This season is not the end of completion, but rather a process begun anew.
Even without complete certainty, he stepped onto the stage and faced his ambition head-on without hiding it. That very attitude is why Kim Seong-uk's next steps are anticipated even more.
