Introduction
Hello! I'm Kim Jung-han, and I love working out! I started working out in 2022, as soon as I became an adult. At the time, I was obese at 110kg and started working out simply wanting to lose weight. I signed up at a nearby local gym, and since I was a broke college student, I couldn't afford personal training, so I started working out on my own while watching YouTube. Fitness YouTubers were really trending back then, and I used to follow workouts by watching them. With awkward form and without even understanding muscle engagement, I just pushed and pulled haphazardly. Thanks to beginner gains, my weight naturally dropped, and as the numbers went down, I gradually found it fun. I started dieting like that, and while it tastes good now(?), I had no idea chicken breast—which I was eating for the first time in my life—would be so dry and tasteless. Because my only goal was weight loss, I don't think I calculated macros or calories at all. Still, I had some grit, so I strictly stuck to my diet like clockwork, going from 110kg down to 67kg and 6-7% body fat (how did I even lose that much.. it's amazing even as I write this..), somehow managing to drop the weight, seeing my abs and veins on my body for the first time in my life. (Of course, because I just worked out haphazardly, I was nothing but skin and bones). Around that time, I began watching bodybuilders on YouTube, and seeing athletes like Park Jae-hoon, Jang Seong-yeop, Kim Kang-min, Kim Geon-woo, and Lee Yong-seung made me think, 'I want to stand on a stage like that, too.' Starting from late 2023, I tackled the big three lifts for the first time, bulking up through a structured diet and training while always chanting 'all right, all right' to boost my big three total. From a big three total of 240kg in 2023, I reached 490kg before enlisting in August 2024, and then entered the military. After enlisting, focusing mainly on free weights under poor conditions naturally increased my big three total a bit, and currently it sits around 510kg. Since being discharged, I have let go of my greed for heavy weights a bit and am now training to properly build my physique to compete in a show. My goal for this year, 2026, is to step on stage! I am training with the goal of placing in the competition I enter. I root for all fitness enthusiasts, and I will also become someone who continually progresses! ALLRIGHT!
